Information stays on your device

The app stores your activity records, minutes, feelings, notes, selected pace, planning days and active timer locally. If you upgrade from an earlier MoveLight version, earlier profile, weight, reflection and next-day feedback data is retained locally, available to read and included in full backups.

The app does not require an account and does not send these records to a developer-operated server. It includes no advertising or analytics SDK, location tracking, HealthKit connection or automatic cloud synchronization.

Export and restore

You can export a backup from Settings → Your data. The app opens the system share sheet and you choose whether and where to save or share it. No recipient is selected by MoveLight. The backup is an unencrypted JSON file containing your records and retained history. A destination you choose may store or transmit that file under its own privacy practices.

The temporary export file uses Apple's system file protection and is removed after the share operation completes or is cancelled. This does not make the exported JSON file encrypted. Restore reads a file you select, validates it and asks for confirmation before replacing current app data.

Clearing data

Settings → Your data offers a reset with explicit confirmation. It clears current and retained older MoveLight data from the app. If storage operations fail, recovery information may be retained so an interrupted reset does not silently destroy data. Copies you exported remain wherever you saved or shared them.

Your device's operating system and backup settings may also affect local app data. Those services are controlled by you and Apple, not by a MoveLight synchronization service.

Contacting support

If you email care@empathie.ai, the information you choose to send is received through email so support can respond. Do not attach activity histories or other sensitive information unless necessary. Sending a support email is separate from using the app's local features.
